Another of Cuisinart's "next generation" of food processors, this is not as large or quite as powerful as the 14 cup model, but it will perform the same functions and is more than adequate for most families' needs. I absolutely love my Cuisinart food processor! It has saved me TONS of prep time and is now my favorite tool in the kitchen. I use it almost every day to cut vegetables and mix sauces. We've barely eaten out since I bought it.

If this is your first food processor, I would highly recommend the Food Processor Bible and the storage case to go along with it.

After reading reviews I decided to purchase this processor although I had some concerns about the size of the feeding tube. They must have revised the design based on customer reviews because it is plenty big and also has an option where you can have a smaller tube size feed to pour liquid or whatever in.

I love this machine! I previously had a processor that didn't have nearly the heavy duty power of this one. I have shredded meat, kneaded dough, all things I couldn't have done in my other processor. And of course it chops, shreds, etc in blink of an eye.

If you are looking for a processor in this size, I don't know how you could get anything any better than this.

I had been using a Hamilton Beach food processor for years. Initially, I was a bit nervous about spending/investing the money to buy this product, especially after reading some of the negative reviews about sharp blades and "prohibitive" safety features. But, having used it over the holiday season, I am very satisfied with it's performance in terms of capabilities, speed of use, power, safety and "good looks", especially when compared to food processors from other manufacturers. From dough to cole slaw to salsa to veggie prep, it does it all. It's also fairly easy to clean after use for the next job. Great product!

This processor gets used every other day on the average. It is reliable and saves me a lot of time. I've heard people complain about cleaning all the parts after using, but it isn't that bad. If you can keep the unit on the counter, so much the better. My folks don't like the way it looks, so they tuck it away in the garage. As a result, they don't use it much. The julian strip blade is a joke; avoid buying this if possible. The french fry blade is not nessary. Just slice with wide blade turn potato 90 degrees and slice again. Enjoy!

I had a similar model of Cuisinart food processor, and the blade recently broke off while in use, broke through the plastic container, and flew across the room. As a result of luck only, no one was in its path. Customer service had no real response; they suggested that I pay $20 to replace the broken parts.

An examination of the broken blade shows that this is likely to be a recurring problem with this model and any other Cuisinarts using a similar blade. It is clear that this structural failure is due to a lack of reinforcement of the blades at the point of riveting. The removal of material for the placement of the rivets, the thinness of the material, and the large amount of leverage placed upon the rivets by the longer blades led to the structural failure of the part. This failure could have happened at any time, and could have caused severe injury to the user. The tempering necessary to create blades that stay sharp is the same tempering that makes it impossible to have such thin, un-reinforced parts. The blades should either be made of thicker material, or have a wider section in the area of rivet contact to avoid failure.

I am not much of a chef but I love this machine. I makes easy work of cooking. Cleans up easily. If you buy this product I would suggest buying holder for the blades at the same time. Also, if you fix large meals, get the larger one.

I purchased this Cuisinart DLC-10S when replacement parts for my 10C became more expensive than purchasing a new one. The new one is BETTER in every way and the bonus is that my old discs still work but new ones are better, too. The size is perfect for me and while I don't use it everyday I do use it at least 4 x's per week. The ease of pastry/dough making is fantastic and vegetable processing is a real time saver. The DVD is very helpful and the recipes easy to follow and delicious.

This thing is so annoyingly loud and high pitched it hurts your ears to operate, the lid uses a thin sliver of plastic as a safety mechanism to enable the motor to engage which means it will eventually break, no accessible slot in the lid to pour liquids or push food (you have to disengage the lid and remove it)

I never leave reviews on products, but this food processor is so amazing, I just have to! This is the first food processor I've ever owned--in fact, the first I've ever used. I chose this food processor based on price and the good reviews, but mostly I wanted it because it was so cute. The price was so great, I was half-expecting it not to work at all, but the first time I used it I fell in love.

Vegetables come out beatiful and evenly chopped. It's the perfect size of hummus, one-person smoothies, sauces, and nut butters. This morning, as the ultimate test of my food processor, I made almond butter. I really expected the motor to give out or to be unable to get the almonds smooth enough for butter, but I was blown away!

This product is fun to use and amazes me every time. It's a pretty appliance and easy to store (you can wrap the cord around a base underneath that hides the cord, keeps it from tangling, and allows the processor to sit balanced). Everything I have made (excluding a smoothie) has been pretty easy to clean. It comes with a small spatula that is the perfect size for the processor's bowl. It has exceeded my expectations in every way--value, appearance, ease-of-use, and function. It's a great appliance for anyone who usually cooks for one to two people, likes to make side dips, or just chops a lot of vegetables. It would be a great gift for a college student with a kitchen.

I have only had mine for a week, so I cannot attest to its durability, but for the amazing price I wouldn't be heartbroken if I had to buy another one in a year. If something does happen to the blade or bowl, there is a way to order a replacement through Cuisinart without having to replace the whole processor.

I waited too long to order this food processor and now that I finally own it, I couldn't be happier.

Having never used a processor before I wasn't quite sure what we needed. After reading reviews here and other sites decided on this one because of the size, reviews and price. We have been very pleased with its performance. We didn't want to take up the space of the bigger high powered processors but some of the smaller ones seemed as if they would be more trouble than help. We do chop items into manageable sizes but think that would be necessary in all but the bigger processors. Overall we love it and would highly recommend it.

This bowl fits differently than the original failed bowl did. There is a larger space betweeen the bowl and the lid. I have to hold the lid to make sure the machine runs.

This is not a problem now that I figured out what I have to do to get the machine to run.
